Here’s my story…
I was only four years old when my dad gave me his Nintendo 64, and ever since then I have found countless hours of entertainment through video games. It was during my 6th-grade career fair that I decided that I wanted to become a game developer.
I am a huge nerd who loves all things video games. From the hardware and history of consoles to the history of companies and their franchises, as well as playing and enjoying almost every single genre out there. From FPS and all of its subgenres to rogue likes & lites to open-world action RPGs to turn-based life sim RPGs to sandboxes to platformers to puzzle games. I love playing and analyzing almost every genre imaginable.
I also love superheroes, manga, and anime. From classics like Dragon Ball and One Piece to my favorite movie of all time Spider-Man: Into The Spiderverse. Everything about that movie is perfect in my eyes and I hope to work with a team one day to create a game that has as much attention to detail and style that Spiderverse has.
I love working with people. I have never complained about group work throughout my time as a K-12 & college student. Mainly because I would usually be the one to take charge and delegate tasks among my peers and give them all the information they need to get their job done. In college, I was even Creative Director and Producer for some class projects. My teams and I had weekly meetings, and if anyone had any questions about what they were supposed to do or what I wanted from them I would reply to them immediately with all the details they need so there is no further confusion. It is my personal belief that having everyone work together and give their thoughts and ideas to one another helps make the end product even better… the more perspectives from different walks of life that you have looking at a game the more polished that game becomes and it allows people to pick up on different details more quickly.
I have been focusing on becoming a System Designer, coming up with new ideas for mechanics and how different mechanics will interact with each other by analyzing already existing games and taking a closer look as to why they are or are not fun to play.
Once again, I am a recent graduate of the Michigan State University Video Game Design Program and I am currently seeking employment in the Video Game Design industry.
I’d love to speak with you about any employment opportunities your studio may have.
